A Special Thanks to EVERYBODY
If you were at the Go OTR Summer Celebration, THANK YOU. We are thinking it was a great success – because there were a lot of wonderful people having a great time listening to the music, talking with the artist, eating the food, drinking the drinks and shopping in the shops. For the event to be successful it has to be attended and we were thrilled with the number of people who showed up. Beyond showing up, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was such a great energy running thru the neighborhood on Saturday. Easy to understand why so many people are attracted to this wonderful, urban, neighborhood.
Events like the Summer Celebration cannot possibly happen without sponsors, so I want to thank our title sponsors PNC, HGC and 3CDC. If you find one of the posters from Summer Celebration, still up in a window somewhere, pull it down and take a look at who contributed to the event. You won’t be too surprised when you see who helped out. The sponsors are the people and businesses who put their money into OTR and Cincinnati on daily basis.
The OTR Chamber was the admin muscle behind getting this event from the napkin to reality. If you know these people and enjoyed the event you might want to say thanks to them: Adam Gelter, Colin Groth, Matt Lafkas, Catherine Pleva, and Jen Walke.
This year Sean Rhiney took the reins on recruiting the musical acts. Is there anyone better in Cincinnati to pull together a great line up? We asked Sean to do a lot with very little but he did much more. THANKS TO ALL THE BANDS!
TERRY LEE! yep Terry Lee from OUTSIDE was – and still is – the vision for Summer Celebration. Terry Lee was the guy last year who took on the responsibility and stress for making the 1st Annual Summer Celebration work. Without the first, there could never have been a second! While Terry recruited more people to help shoulder the burden of the event this year, it never lost its vision, flavor, or melody. If this event is long lasting, it is a direct result of Terry’s solid foundation.
Not an easy thing to pack a selection of your own work into your car early in the morning and then unpack that work and arrange it in a 10 x 10 booth and present it for your friends and family to see. We had great selection of artists, craftspeople, and chefs who did just that. I am really happy that the Go OTR Summer Celebration remains a gathering of distinctive local artists.
Katie Clavey – Thanks for MC’ing the event, your enthusiasm for all things Cincinnati is infectious.
Casey Coston was DJ’ing (What other neighborhood could make the Style Council’s My Ever Changing Mood sound so so sublime) Thanks Casey – your sets were noble.
